SuperPaint (paint mode only) - for multiple copies of a image - after you have selected the image with the Lasso or Marquee, hold down the COMMAND and OPTION keys while clicking and dragging the mouse. The faster you drag the less the multiple images overlap. You can change the rate at which the multiple images are generated by changing the line width. The thicker the line you select, the slower the multiple copies will be generated. (You will have less object overlapping.) To get the least amount of overlap choose a thick line width and drag fast and for a lot of overlap choose a thin line and drag slowly. (This tip will not work with FullPaint)
